GRAND MESA JEEP CLUB

Grand Mesa Jeep Club (GMJC) is the second oldest continually active Jeep club in Colorado.  Founded in 1962, the club has many years of comraderie and trail stewardship. GMJC is an adventure loving group that works to conserve trails for future genearations to endure. 

 

GMJC encourages its members to get involved in the community, through local stewardship and events. It is not just a club that wheels. GMJC members work the land in conjunction with the BLM and Forest Service to assist in maintenence and other volunteer efforts. GMJC host an annual clean up of the desert every June, which brings in several dumpsters of trash. GMJC has adopted trails in the Bangs Canyon Recreation Area that is south-east of the Colorado National Monuement. 

 

GMJC has been developing social outlets for full-size off-road enthusiasts, with opportunities to connect through day trips, in-town meet and greets, and, more recently, with the annual Rock Junction event held every June. But the legacy of the GMJC will be in their work with local land management agencies, to develop, maintain, and protect full-size motorized recreation opportunities. The GMJC has won multiple awards for advocacy, club participation, volunteerism, and even for some of the world-class Jeep trails in the Grand Valley. They are active members of the Grand Valley Trails Alliance and work with all trail user groups in tandem for the benefit of all our trails.
